Schulsanitätsdienst (Paramedic pupils)
The Schulsanitätsdienst (SSD) provides first aid for injured pupils.
The first aiders who are on duty carry walkie-talkies with them so that
the secretary can notify them of an accident and tell them where to go. When they reach the injured pupil, they administer first aid. They also decide if they need to call an ambulance.
All pupils who want to be part of the SSD team have to complete a first aid
course, which is financed and run by the German Red Cross. Only Year 9 pupils and older may apply for the SSD team.
